We get it – you live in a non-stop world where businesses fight to get their content noticed every day. One of the biggest advantages they can have is implementing live video streaming. Using cutting-edge technology, high-quality cameras and a good amount of bandwidth, companies can bring their events to a worldwide audience.
Need more convincing? Here’s the top three reasons to start streaming your content live:
1) Create a Community – Any glance at a well-watched YouTube video will show that people enjoy sharing their opinions (some thoughts more applicable than others). The problem is content creators don’t really have a chance to interact with their users immediately. Exchanges will happen over a period of days or even weeks. Now imagine being able to interact with your viewers in real time. Many streaming platforms include comment boxes and interactivity options, giving you the chance to create a community at the same time you’re creating your content!
2) Save Some Time – We’ve all experienced the frustration of getting behind due to the time-consuming process of creating content. Videos need to be edited, audio needs to be produced, the list goes on. The beauty of streaming is that after your live video is finished it can be posted online as content. It consolidates your workflow and lets you check more things off your crowded list.
3) Grow Your Audience – Live streaming is a perfect way to get a leg up on your competition. Make sure you’re the first to bring new content to your audience, allow your users to give you instant feedback, then use these insights to grow your business.
Streaming Media West attracted hundreds of videophiles with it's workshops, subject matter experts and cool new gear. Mobeon's Mark Alameras streamed and recorded several parts of the events and not showcased the Paladin S3, but used it in a production setting.
VideoRx.com's Rob Reihnhardt also presented the Paladin in his workshop as well as throughout the event as it fit perfectly in his backpack.
Lastly, Telestream and vMix used the Paladin in their booths to highlight their live streaming software in use with a portable, capable solution all while taking up just inches of space on their tables.
Paladin Innovators is quickly earning its stripes after the first appearance in a showroom floor. They were not just in their own booth but in four other places!
Telestream and VMix, two competing streaming software solutions, used the Paladin in their exhibits. These were great examples of how the Paladin can be loaded with different software as it's an open, Windows 7 based solution. Additionally, the Paladin can be loaded with VidBlaster as well as Livestream Studio!
In addition to the appearances on the showroom floor, the Paladin was also used in demonstrations by two of StreamingMedia.com's workshop presenters; Mark Alamares, CEO of Mobeon and Rob Reinhardt, Founder Videorx.com.
Both demonstrated and compared the "ultra-portable" solution to others. While Mark showcased the Paladin "Fly Pack" in his workshops, Rob did the same with the stand-alone Paladin, but also strolled around the venue with it in his backpack.
Another aspect of the event that highlights the Paladin's portability was the challenge of bringing five units on a plane. Not including the two backup units in our carry-on luggage and the FlyPack. It only took four checked bags to get everything from Seattle to L.A.. This included ten cameras, four monitors, tripods and cables.

Government transparency is great for communities to understand issues and initiatives that could make an impact on individuals and businesses. However, accomplishing this through livestreaming has been complicated, expensive and labor intensive.
When it came time for the Port of Tacoma to update and upgrade their livestreaming setup, they chose the Paladin because of its versatility, affordability and ease of use, and integrated it seamlessly into their existing system, enabling them to stream their video production of commission meetings.
In the meetings, an executive panel communicates key initiatives to the public. Since there are several panel members, an audience and a spot for a public commentary in the venue, multiple camera angles are needed.
Five cameras controlled by an Eagle PTZ system were wired into a production room where Fife-based ACT Video Productions manages the cameras. The Paladin is used as a switcher and live production system.
"The Port of Tacoma, Washington, live-streams its biweekly commission meetings in the interest of transparency and public accountability. Recently, it selected the Paladin system to replace the outdated broadcasting equipment in its control room. Not only is the Paladin more powerful and versatile than the Port’s previous switcher, but it was less expensive as well.
It occupies minimal space, accepts all our audio, video, and monitor-display feeds, and outputs a clean signal at any resolution for live-streaming and disc archiving.
During the live broadcast, I’ve found that the user interface has enabled me to switch more deftly and incorporate more graphic overlays than before.
The Paladin is an obvious choice for any video production professional looking for an inexpensive switcher with power, versatility, and mobility." - Austin Gunderson, Production Manager, A.C.T. Video Productions.
